FEATURED WORK
–
Project Advisor & Lead Product Manager, Responsible Seafood Coalition
PAVING THE WAY FOR SHARED INFRASTRUCTURE IN A FRAGMENTED SYSTEM
Working alongside Ocean Wise’s Strategic Advisor to the CEO, I led the operational design and product management of the Responsible Seafood Coalition, a fully remote, multi-NGO initiative exploring the future of shared seafood data infrastructure across North America and Europe.
The core challenge was a gnarly one: how to reduce fragmentation across seafood sustainability, traceability, labour, and climate data systems in a way that could actually work in practice and create real value for the sector.
As both Project Advisor and Lead Product Manager, I helped shape the coalition’s strategic and product direction from the ground up. That meant leading discovery, synthesizing research, identifying user and stakeholder needs, translating technical and organizational complexity into clearer product pathways, and co-authoring a strategic report and investor deck.
Working across Ocean Wise, FishWise, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, and GSSI, I helped align a decentralized group of stakeholders across multiple organizations, time zones, and areas of expertise while keeping the work grounded in operational reality, sector trust, and long-term usefulness.
This is the kind of work I’m most drawn to: product, strategy, and systems design in high-ambiguity environments, where the challenge isn’t just building something new, but building something useful that can align people across complexity.
Operations Consultant, Marine Eduction & Research Society
At the Marine Education and Research Society, I helped turn a high-profile media opportunity into a more strategic organizational investment.
When the BBC’s Planet Earth III team approached MERS about featuring a newly documented whale behaviour, the organization saw an opportunity to expand awareness and reach. To make the most of it, they were considering hiring a marketing agency, but first needed a clearer way to connect marketing spend to broader organizational goals.
I worked with the Director of Operations to design a planning and reporting framework that linked marketing efforts directly to strategic priorities. The framework was built to do double duty: it gave staff and board members a practical reporting tool for tracking progress and outcomes, while also serving as a strategic brief and decision-making guide for the agency.
The result was a clearer way for MERS to focus resources, evaluate impact, and demonstrate the value of marketing investments, not just as communications activity, but as a lever for advancing the organization’s mission.
Fun fact: the whale behaviour featured had never been documented anywhere else in the world. Since then, multiple whales in the Pacific Northwest have been observed learning and using the same technique in British Columbia waters.

TURNING OPPORTUNITY INTO STRATEGY
Senior Product Operations Manager,
Shopify
SCALING CLARITY INSIDE COMPLEXITY
At Shopify, I was part of the senior leadership team for Merchant Marketing, one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing product organizations.
During a period of hypergrowth, I helped the organization scale from 170 to 305 people while transitioning to fully remote work across North America and Europe. I designed and shipped the systems, planning rhythms, and operational structures needed to help a fast-growing, decentralized organization stay aligned, accountable, and effective across product management, engineering, data science, and UX, as well as up and down reporting chains from individual contributors to executives and the CEO.
I owned the annual strategic planning process and helped connect team-level goals and resourcing decisions to broader business priorities. I also designed and tested new operational systems and ways of working, several of which were later adopted more broadly across Shopify.
As a founding member of Shopify’s Product Operations craft, I wrote the Product Operations Handbook to help define what strong product operations looked like across the company. I also consulted internally on improving and scaling the in-house product and project management software used by more than 11,000 employees.
The throughline in all of it was the same: helping a large, decentralized organization build the clarity, coordination, and operating systems needed to do ambitious work well.
